Christopher Ecclestone (Doctor Who) made his RSC debut in Shakespeare’s darkest thriller, Macbeth.

After three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be King of Scotland, a lust for power leads to madness. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king, and the death count keeps on rising as paranoia sets in.

Playing the Scottish King with brooding aplomb, Christopher Ecclestone shines in this tale of murder, meddling and madness. Niamh Cusack also co-stars with her return to the Royal Shakespeare Company as Lady Macbeth.
