Mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton sings "Georgia On My Mind" as part of the series Love Letters to Atlanta.
Jamie Barton vividly remembers each special trip to the Fox Theatre when she was a kid growing up in Rome, Georgia. She salutes her current hometown of Atlanta in a Fox Theatre debut that will knock your socks off. Barton selected Georgia On My Mind because it reminds her of the importance of home, and particularly the years she spent away, learning her craft at Indiana University in Bloomington, the hometown of songwriter Hoagy Carmichael.
This piece is part of Love Letters to Atlanta. Each Love Letter includes a visually stunning capture of a song that is meaningful to the singer and an interview with the artist, filmed in a space that has great meaning to Atlanta.
