A cosmic drama of light, life, and music, Haydn's "The Creation" is reborn in this dazzling new staging.
Joseph Haydn's monumental oratorio "The Creation" is one of the great masterpieces of the Classical Era. Written in 1798 and inspired by Handel's great oratorios, "The Creation" tells the biblical story of the world's creation with breathtaking drama, poetry, and spiritual depth. From the primordial chaos before creation to the jubilant dawn of life, Haydn's score remains as powerful and moving today as it was at its premiere in 1799.
At the 73rd Ljubljana Festival in Slovenia, Haydn's monumental work takes on a captivating new life in a visionary staging by La Fura dels Baus, the ground-breaking Catalan theatre collective celebrated for their bold fusion of classical music with incredible stage design. This production transforms Haydn's score into an immersive experience where music, theater, and visual storytelling come together to create an unforgettable experience. The incredible ADDA Simfònica Alicante and the Slovenian Philharmonic Choir, led by Josep Vincent, give an outstanding performance. Soloists Alba Fernández-Cano, Víctor Sordo, and Toni Marsol bring the archangels and first humans to life, infusing Haydn's beloved music with dramatic power. This is "The Creation" as you've never seen it before.
