Ballet
This steamy, sultry performance blends the grace of classical ballet with the innovation of contemporary movement.
Preljocaj delves into the mystical allure of the Orient, exploring its sensuality and eroticism. The ballet begins with a tableau inspired by a Turkish bath, echoing Ingres' iconic painting “La Grande Odalisque.” Twelve women embody facets of Scheherazade, while six men portray diverse expressions of masculinity.
The atmospheric soundtrack, crafted by Natasha Atlas and Samy Bishai of 79D, sets the tone, including a standout reimagining of James Brown's classic, "It's a Man's Man's World." Exquisite costumes, designed by legendary couturier Azzedine Alaïa, provide a final touch of elegance.
